Venue 11 pro issues

I am having a problem with my Venue 11 pro wifi connectivity. When it is docked(without ethernet cable plugged in) it receives wifi signal just fine and stays connected. The second I take it off of the dock, it looses wifi connectivity with my router and identifies the problem as "the default gateway is not available." Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?
