Venue 8 3000 Series Errors and Freezes

Hello, I just received my 3480 yesterday. When I was downloading apps from the Amazon Appstore, the Appstore stopped working about five times. It did always start again where I was. Then the screen froze. I pushed the off button and held it for a while. I put it down, and when I picked it up again, it was stuck on the Dell boot screen.  I finally pushed and held the on/off button and volume up button for ten or fifteen seconds, and it finally shut down. Is there a problem with the tablets sent out in general, or just mine?  Also, I found that the SD card is just used for data, and not programs. SD program storage can be done with the Android 4.4 version, since the Samsung Tab 4 has it available.  Any word on whether Dell will put out a fix on it?
