Can an NFS export path be set to hostname:/FilesystemName

Does Unity support the use of a cname for an export on the Unity? By default when creating a new NFS Share the export information is prepopulated with the IP Address of the NAS  so that the export path is  x.x.x.x:/filesystem

In terms of DR wouldn't it be best practice to use the hostname or a cname? And for the FTPServers configured with fstab using cname for the mount points?

sure - you can use IP, subnet, hostname (from local hosts / NIS / DNS / LDAP) or negroup

take a look at the UEMCLI manual - it should make it clearer

Thanks for that - I can see in the UEMCLI guide that hostname:/NFS_Share is supported. Our support team say they have set it up like this but when I look at Export Paths: in Unisphere it lists:

Export Paths:  x.x.x.x:/NFS_ShareName.

I expected it to display under the Export Paths:     NAS_Server_Name:/NFS_ShareName

Is this right?

hostname is something the client decides (and it can be anything if clients used local hosts file or DNS admin also can set anything). IP is better anyway.

You will see the "Share Name" and "NAS Server name" displayed there as well.
