UnityVSA 4.4 Community Edition License

Hi Community,

When pasting Dell UnityVSA UUID to get community edition license , web page displays a popup "Not Connected. Verify Network".

My Dell UnityVSA is not connected to internet. Does it require an internet connection to generate license?

Hi Rainer,

I cannot generate license due to an error shown in my first post. my assumption is following (I may be wrong);

I assume that error generates if either of the following is true;

1. Community edition license is generated once per registered email address. However, I have tried
    to generate it via a new corporate email address, I get the same error.

2. Community edition license is only generated when UnityVSA appliance has internet connection.
     But, how Dell EMC can map a UUID to an installed appliance anywhere in the world. (does not
     make sense to me).

3. Dell EMC records public IP of Internet connection so that multiple requests can be blocked if
    coming from same ISP . I have tried from home , office and mobile , none works.

I tried using Firefox, Chrome, IE and Edge. Same error generates.

Hi Rainer_EMC ,

I do login before attempting to generate a license for a given UUID.  It seems that some sort of issue at Dell side to generate license.

I run into the exact same issue,

I'm logged in as myself on dellemc.com

And when I check Primary contact info and so forth, all looks well.

But if I click the profile icon on the elmeval.htm page, I am someone at HCL. Mohammed Alsadi.

Thas has been raised to IT and will be fixed shortly

In the meantime you can open a service request and the licensing team will create a license for you

How do i raise a service request if I do not have a support contract with Dell EMC ?

I tried to ring their support phone number, and i was told that support staff cannot help much over the phone because of the following reasons;

1. i do not have existing support contract with Dell EMC

2. I rang for support of Community Edition, which is free.

Hi,

I, too, am experiencing the 'Not Connected. Verify Network' problem when attempting to generate a Unity VSA license. I've logged into https://www.dellemc.com/en-us/auth/elmeval.htm, inputted my UUID, chose Unity VSA as the product, and then hit submit. At this point the above error message is displayed. Can you help, please? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Same problem here using this link: https://www.delltechnologies.com/en-us/auth/elmeval.htm

When I click on sign in to authenticate, it goes back to https://www.delltechnologies.com/en-us/auth/elmeval.htm as if it was a loop. I tried with IE/Firefox/Chrome => same results

I read this kb (https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-ie/484570) but it didn't help me fix this issue.

Is there any issue from your side?
