Disk allignment with VMAX and Win 2008
We recently installed a Symmetrix VMAX in our environment, where we will use it to host MS SQL databases running under a Windows 2008 failover cluster.
When we were using Windows 2003 failover cluster and SQL 2005 we used to align any symmetrix disk presented to our SQL clusters, using diskpart utility.
Is there a need to align the Vmax disks on our windows 2008 SQL cluster ??

Windows 2008 does not require disk alignment as long as you formatted that disk under 2008.
