FAST VP Bind to Policy

Is Bind to FAST Policy and Allocation by FAST Policy the same setting?  If not, does anyone have the CLI syntax to enable Bind to Policy?

'Bind to policy' was an internal name that was used very early for what ultimately becane 'VP allocation by FAST policy'.

The bind by policy moniker should not be used as it is very misleading. Thin devices can only be bound to a thin pool.  The ability to allocate extents for a thin device from a pool other than the pool is bound to is enabled by turning on allocation by policy.

Hi Steven,

probably you ask about bind a device and associate a SG with FAST VP Policy?

Am I right?

Thanks, that is exactly what I needed to know.

No, I wanted to verify the bind to policy and allocation by FAST policy were the same.  SYMCLIGuy answered my question.

Thanks,

Steve
