SAN vs Fabric.
What is the difference between a fabric and SAN ? I am bit confused about both the terminologies. Can someone please explain in simple words.

A SAN is a term to describe any block storage network.
A fabric is a term to describe a specific type of block storage network.
SANs are fabrics when they are using FC-SW or FCoE as the physical link.
SANs are not fabrics when are using FC-AL or iSCSI as the physical link.

A SAN is any network used to connect block storage to hosts. Types include FC-SW, FC-AL, FCoE, and iSCSI.
A fabric is usually referring to a specific type of SAN physical topology, generally FC-SW.

So can we say that A fabric is also a SAN or A SAN is also a fabric.
The defination of fabric is the interconnection between the nodes. So where's the difference with SAN ?
