Unisphere Metric Alerts :: Occurrence Sampling

I have a customer asking how the alert sampling works in Unisphere.

For example, let's say the sampling is simply 3 out of 5 samples, if the condition is hit 3 times it sends the alert. So my question is then, does it send the alert at the 3rd sample and then restart or does it send it at the 5th sample and then restart the counter?

So (Hit(1), Hit(2), Hit(3), Send alert and reset) or (Hit(1), Hit(2), Hit(3), Miss(4), Miss(5), Send alert and reset)?

It means the number of occurrences in the data samples which must happen before the alert is triggered. For example, if the threshold is breached 3 times out of 5 samples, initiate an alert.

In your case, the alert will be sent once over 3 times in 5 samples. If you have 80,80, 95, 75,75, the warning will be sent.

if you have 90,90,91, 60,60, the critical will be sent.
