How does VMAX address the write cliff challenge posed by SSDs?

How does VMAX address the write cliff challenge posed by SSDs?

The SSDs used in Symmetrix have algorithms that make performance stable even after all the cells have been written.
This article I found on Google explains that it is pretty much a non-issue on most storage arrays.

I read that article, but obviously it didn't say anything about vmax. Some arrays seems to be doing garbage collection randomly, but interested how vmax is handling.

The drives used in Symmetrix are enterprise class EFDs that have the algorithms built in.
