Virtualization 101 - lecture on server, storage, network virtualization?

Hello,

I was asked by a valued customer if I have a recommendation for some background reading for a newbee at a customer on virtualization (server, storage, networks).

I pointed hime to Scott Lowe's and Dennis Zimmer's books, but they are in fact too deep and focused on VMware.

The presentation that Marcel Brunner brought to my attention on the team FTP /Home/vspecialist/Presentations/Virtualization in General/ - virtualization 101 seems to be outdated (mentioning Invista and alike...). But the content would look into the right direction.

Anybody aware of some good reading or other sources for a virtualization newbee who needs it as well for university studies?

Thank you!

David

Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility.  Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and can go unanswered for a long time.

You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right.  Then search for and select: "Everything VMware at EMC".

Seeing though that over 6 months have elapsed since you posted, maybe you have already found the answer (possibly opened up a ticket with support)?  If so, once relocated, consider sharing the resolution and also marking the question as "Answered" so that it can help others that have the same question.  If not, once relocated, it will then have more visibility by the community of dedicated customers, partners, and EMC employees that are eager to assist.

In the meantime I collected some interesting resources for Virtualization 101 I would like to share:

Will be happy to see your experience and helpful resources to educate people in this area.
