Add NVX 5300 to SMI-S provider with TestSmiProdider fails
Hi,
I've installated the latest version of the SMI-S provider and the flare version on the device is 05.32.000.5.008.
I receive the following error while adding the system to the provider:
Error: The requested object cannot be found. (com.emc.cmp.osls.se.osl.DiscoveryServices.StorInstanceDiscover():142 C:ERROR_CLASS_SOFTWARE F:ERROR_FAMILY_NOTFOUND R:1000052 L:2 1000052 : "No objects of the requested type were found" : "SymDiscover Failed" : 2 : 40 : "No devices were found")
How can i fix this?

Hi,
Please ensure the ports 443 and 2163 must be open between the SMI-S Provider host and the VNX array.
Thanks

Thank you for your reply!
I can be on the host through the Unisphere access VNX, Unisphere is installed above the VNX is the Unisphere the corresponding port to take up?
I'm sure the host corresponding to above 443 and 2163 port normal, how to confirm that the the VNX above port is being used?
Thanks
Peng

Hi,
Ensure that port 443 and 2163 are open between the host where SMI-S is installed and VNX Array.
Check if you have any firewall in place between them, because SMI-S uses 443 and 2163 for communication.
If you are using Windows 2008, ensure you have Administrator previlage while using SMI-S using command prompt, while testing SMI-S
Thanks

It can't be that easy. I am having this same issue. The sysadmin password was changed, so I had to remove the systems from SMI-S. When attempting to addsys, I get this very same issue!! Wish someone had the correct answer.

you can always open a service request for support
BTW you are replying to a 5 year old post - some things could have changed since then ....
