Yes I can now see that this annoying error email was supposed to be ignored ?
is there any way to turn it off ?
here's the explanation from the KB article:
You can safely ignore the 'heartbeat' call-home. This is a weekly call-home generated every seven days by the CLARiiON storage processor (SP), and is intended to verify call-home connectivity with the EMC call-home system. This type of call-home automatically gets closed out after being processed and acknowledged by the EMC call-home system.

you don't want to turn it off, this will make sure the box "checks in" with EMC to make sure email-home works correctly. You don't want to end-up in a situation where somebody changed SMTP server settings and started blocking email-home events when you really have issues with the box.

Ah, so I can just ignore this "error" email that I received in my mailbox.
That is bit odd but yes if the suggestion is to ignore it hten I'll filter this email to ignore :-)
Thanks for the update.

If it's IGNOREABLE, then why is the severity CRITICAL?

Yes that is true. it is very confusing to me a well.
My manager ask me about this and I am still in doubt as to how to prevent this misunderstanding in the future.

I had this happen to the point of unbearable. All hours of the night and when our mail receiver catches "CRITICAL" it rings the alarm bells. The only way i got around it was to have support change it. Not sure what they did, but It never bothered us again. Call homes still working fine.
