Hello,
In case we are planning to configure VNXe3150 in the HO with a replication to a second box in a DR site, and in case we had an ISCSI Datastore of 500GB used for Hyper-V 2012 in the First environment, what is the total overhead size needed to replicate this DataStore to the other VNXe3150 in the DR site. By that i mean, what will be the total size in GB reserved in the HO VNXe for this Datastore?
I have seens in previous posts that it should be 105%. Will that mean that i need a storage space of (500 + 105%*500)= 1025GB to replicate a Datastore capacity of 500GB.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
The calculation you have from the previous posts is accurate. The minimum protection size required to setup replication for any iSCSI Datastore is 105%.

Subhash

Thank you for the reply.
Is there any workaround to host Hyper-V 2012 Datastores on VNXe3150 and replicate them to a DR, without needed the double space for protection?

Hi Michael,
There is no way around the 105% protection space requirement for iSCSI filesystems.
