Connection Utility Java Problem
Hello guys. I'm trying to install Connection Utility on my Win7 64Bit Laptop and the following message comes up before the installation starts:
Already installed and tested java on my browsers Does anyone have any ideia why is this happening?
Thanks

Hi Matos,
Is your installed Java version 32bits? Must be 32bits, Java 64bits will not gonna work.
Check if you have more then one version of Java installed in your system that can cause problems, and do not update to the latest Java 8.

From the screenshot you can see, this is clearly the java installation problem. Glad to see you have solved this problem and thank you for your update.

Hello,
I'm trying to install the connection utility and get the same message. I'm using the latest version of java 32 bit and windows 10 and 7 get the same message. I need to assign and IP address to a new EMC VNX
Any thoughts?

Use JAVA 1.7.51, not the newest one and see if that works

Glen, where can I get that version? I couldn't find it on Oracle's archived java versions website.

Uninstall all version of JAVA and install 6.0 and 7.0 on your system. This will allow you to log in to get it to Unisphere.
Note: if you have only Java 6 it will allow you but even 7 is recommended as some Unisphere use some file of Java 7.
Hope it help you.

Oops - that link won't work - I searched for Java 1.7 Oracle archives, needed to click through a couple of links
This was the first link
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase7-521261.html
Then click on the embedded link to the archive page
Java SE 7 Archive Downloads
Go to the Oracle Java Archive page.
Eventually I got to this link
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase7-521261.html#sjre-7u51-oth-JPR
Remember to get the 32-bit version

Any idea when they plan to fix this? 32 bit architecture and a Java version that has been compromised (CVE-2013-2590) for nearly a year?

Better a late response than never responding? lol. Thank you. That version worked.

Brutal...I had to basically make my entire system insecure to install that stupid Connection Utility. I got u51 to work as well. Really come one EMC that just sucks.

Please see the following KB article:
https://support.emc.com/kb/500891 ETA 500891: VNX1, VNX2, AX4-5 Series: Unisphere Manager and Unisphere Service Manager GUI may not open if the Microsoft Windows Client system is running Java JRE 9.x.
