DNS issue joining Active Directory

I cannot join AD.  The server is complaining that DNS is not working in the logs, but I can resolve hostnames. See below:

[root@vnx-svc ~]# /nas/bin/server_cifs server_2 -Join compname=VNX1,domain=services.com,admin=administrator,ou="ou=Computers"

[root@vnx-svc ~]# nslookup haw.services.com

So what could be my problem?
