Data Movers
Hi Experts,
Could you please tell me as how many physical data movers can be connected to VNX and also if we can use the same tape drive to backup data from Physical data movers and VDM or need seprate tape drives for it?

Depends on the model. Is this a older VNX or one of the newer VNX2s?

As correctly stated by Strebeld, it will depend on model. You can check the link http://www.emc.com/collateral/hardware/white-papers/h8217-introduction-vnx-wp.pdf for details information on VNX configurations by model. For backups normal LTO tape drive will do while you have the connectivity, zoning and configurations done for NDMP backup.

Yes a single tape drive connected to a physical data mover can backup file systems from both the PDM and all of its VDM
