Remove unused NL-SAS Tier from Pool?
Hello,
We have a customer who want's to remove the NL-SAS disks from his Pool (VNX5600) to use them in another array.
We can fit the Pool LUNs on the 2 highest tiers (SSD + SAS), but I don't know of any way to remove the NL-SAS disk from the pool.
Thanks in advance for any advice or experiences
thanks
Francis

I do not believe that there is any recommended way to drain the pool .
If there happens to be available capacity elsewhere in the array, you could move completely out of the pool, destroy, and recreate it, then move back in.
This shortcoming is part of the reason that I typically carve out several storage pool within a unit. If you construct one huge pool, then you have little flexibility in addressing any issues with it.

Once a Pool has been bound (created) you cannot remove the disks, you can only move the data to another Pool/Raid Group, then destroy the Pool.
