Slow NFS datastore update

Hi all, I dont know if anyone else has noticed this but when I move vm's around nfs datastores it takes ages for the move to be reflected in the vnxe's virtual machine tab in the nfs share. I'm assuming that this also means that it does not update the storage pool usage either until it has refreshed. Is there anyway of actually making the vnxe rescan an nfs share to update what is actually stored in the datastore?

Hi,

The polling mechanism for updating the datastore information (and any updates from the ESX/VCenter) on the VNXe side runs every 24Hr interval. If you want to do a manual refresh, you may do so by going to Hosts > VMware > Refresh or Hosts > VMware > [any particular ESX] > Refresh. This should update the VMs under Storage > VMware > [VMware app] > Virtual machines tab.

This update is not related to the storage consumption reporting on VNXe side. Storage consumption reporting is refreshed every 5 mins, so you should be able to see that in the respective VMware apps.
