Steps for DR failover test with Mirrorview/A
I would like to test DR site failover with Mirrorview/A..
What would be the steps needed to test with Mirrorview and then restart the syncronization after the test.
I would not want the changed data coming back to the production site.
Force Promote? the DR site.
Thanks

Hi Fred,
If I understand your question correctly, you want to continue your production on the original site and just perform a DR test in parallel at the failover site.
In this case, you could consider making a snap of the secondary copy and assigning this to your DR test hosts. This will make sure your replication continues as before and you will NOT have to do a full resync after testing. Test against your snap and once you're happy, remove it and you're done.
Be aware that you may need a significant RLP capacity and performance!
If you don't care about resyncing, just perform a regular promote on the failover site. Do your tests. Then remove all mirroring config and just rebuild it like before.
Force promote is only needed once your primary system is actually unreachable, which for this test is not the case.
Hope this helps, good luck!
