VNX Upgrade
I am looking to upgrade my VNX OE version from 5.33 to 8.1.3
-How can I insure that one controller can service my traffic while the other is being upgraded?
-What do I need to be aware of from the standpoint of a possible negative impact as a result of the upgrade?

8.1.3 is the version of File OE, if you have a unified storage array there will be two upgrades: File OE first (version 8.1.x) and then Block OE upgrade (version 5.33.x).
Need to make sure all hosts are multi-pathed, look at CPU utilization on each SP. If you have CIFS/NFS shares you need to prepare customers for short outages (CIFS mainly)

well, all load will be serviced by one SP during Block OE upgrades, SP reboots pretty fast (5-8 minutes). Unless you are driving your array pretty hard, it will be transparrent to your hosts/applications. Do make sure all hosts are zoned to multiple SPs.

OK thanks. Are there any performance impacts since I have only one controller servicing my Luns instead of two? Or any other possible impacts?ESXi hosts are the initiators.
