VNX5400 File CIFS/NFS DR Recovery

If we like to setup DR Recovery for CIFS/NFS, what is the license required?

It seems we need VNX Replication License as well as DR License???

VNX Replicator license that's all you need to be able to replicate CIFS/NFS data. That includes ability to failover, failback ..etc

How about other technologies such as MirrorView?

Is MirrorView only for very short distance replication using FC Channel???

For VNX Replication Fail-Over, since it involves the NAS IP Change from Production to a DR site with different subnet, is it automatic or manual effort is required for the NAS Client to reconnect to the DR site??

for CIFS you would need to use MV/S - which is a completely diffent config than async replication

yes it is FC with a max of 55 miles or so

for failover with async - we will update DNS so if your dynamic DNS works your clients should learn the new IP automatically when they reconnect

Thanks all, but do I also need snapsure License and why need it?

I read from VNX Replicator technical document that it works with snapsure.

Thanks.

Replicator uses checkpoints (Snapsure) internally

BUT the Snapsure license is typically included in the base licenses at no cost.
