VNX5500 SNMP for Block

I followed steps that I found in other threads to setup  SNMP monitoring on a VNX5500 Array. The steps I followed as below

1) Browesed to System > Monitoring and Events > Notifications for Block

2) Went to Notification templates tab

3) Chose the template and went to properties.

4) Went to SNMP tab

5) Pointed the SNMP Management Host to our local server we send SNMP traps to, and set the community string to what we used.

I was told they are not seeing any SNMP traps coming from this system though a week later. Is there something I missed? Almost everything I search for keeps coming back talking about Notifications for File instead of Block.

SNMP traps are only sent for events that occur and only for events that are in categories that you have selected.  In the monitoring template, you can select more event categories to send traps on.  For testing purposes, we sometimes check the box for everything, then see if some of the "benign" information traps are sent.  Once you determine you're receiving traps, you'll want to remove the unnecessary or noisy categories.

Let us know if that helps!
