VNXe as Stand-alone VNXe CIFS Shared Folder Server
HI!
How I can configure VNXe3100 as "Stand-alone VNXe CIFS Shared Folder Server"(Without Active Directory)??
How I can apply access rights on Share??
Thank you!

Hi,
VNXe supports standalone CIFS server from OE 2.2 and make sure you have the VNXe upgraded to 2.2 or above.
Then try creating a shared folder server and select CIFS where you get an option to create "Standalone" server.
Use Windows MMC snap-in to browse through the CIFS server and share to check/add access rights.

There doesn't seem to be the option of creating or adding "local" CIFS server users within the MMC. How does one create local perrmissions for a stand-alone CIFS server?
Thanks.

Same as you do on a Celerra or VNX – you use the tools from a Windows client to manage local users and groups remotely

Hi Rainer,
I'm new to EMC and VNXe, can you please guide us how to do it? I'm having the same problem.
