What is the reason to use the different vendor HDD of same size?
In my environment, VNX 5400 have various vendor NL SAS HDD of same size. What is the reason to use the different vendor HDD of same size? Is there any recommendations to use in this manner? Why dont we use the same vendor HDD?

Hi,
becasue of availability and sourcing EMC (like other vendors) qualifies multiple models for a specific drive type and size.
These are fully interchangeable.

Hi,
Does different vendors have total minutes of rotation life of HDD. Might this could be the reason to use different vendors HDD. is it ?

one reason is that we want to avoid single-sourcing so that if there is a shortage or problem or end-of-life with one vendor and model we can still fulfill customer orders.
this is pretty normal business practice - your car manufacturer for example qualifies mulitple vendors parts that are interchangeable
