Zoning an ESXi host to 6 or 8 VNX FC ports
Hi All,
Is there a benefit of zoning an ESXi host that is running NMP to more than 4 VNX storage ports? If I zone it to 6 or 8 ports, will I get more bandwidth and better performance?
Appreciate your input.

Hi,
In absence of EMC power path software,Zoning the ESXi hosts to more ports will only provide you with redundancy/fail-over functionality and no performance benefits as the native MPIO only provide one IO path active and remaining as standby.
you need to have EMC Powerpath VE Multipathing Software + License for each exsi host ,to get all the IO paths active/active and gain the better IO performance for ESxi hosts,
Please have a look to these documents for more details
