vnx 5300 cache
If VNX 5300 is configured for file & block access, then what will be the max cache for the storage array ?
Is it 16 GB (considering only the 2 SPE ) or 28 GB ( 16 from the 2 SPE & 12 GB from the 2 X-Blades) ?

You should not mix these two
They are for different purposes altogether. Consider an X-blade like a file server which get FC LUNs from the block portion of VNX, just like any other rack server in your data center.
For the block storage part, you should specifically look at the amount of SP Read Cache and Write Cache which can be seen in the system properties.

Depends on what you define as cache
On the SP’s there is read cache and write cache that is used for both block and file
On the X-blades some of its memory is used as read cache (like Unix buffer cache) but no write cache
