VPLEX-V7000 Integration

Hello Folks,

Any best practices in order to put a V7000 under a VPLEX, interme of SAN Design and any other best practices, base on the documents found on the support, there no specific example for V7000.

Thank You

already done,

On the solve document in the task list regarding V7000 there is :

  1. Zone the storage to the VPLEX back-end ports. Follow the recommendations in Implementation and Planning Best Practices for EMC VPLEX Technical Notes.

On the https://www.emc.com/collateral/technical-documentation/h13546-vplex-san-connectivity-best-practices.pdf

I am looking for best practices fir this two scenarios :

Scenario 1: V7000 Array composed by 1xV7000 Controller (2 Canister)

Scenario 2: V7000 array composed by 2xV7000 Controller (4 Canister)

Based on the h13546-vplex-san-connectivity-best-practices.pdf , for scenario 1, I assume that we will base our backend connectivity on the example related to Active/Passive and ALUA arrays (page 26) is there any special recommendation related to V7000 ?

Thank You,

Please refer to the implementation best practice guide for general best practices. As far as v7000 the Solve desktop lists detailed procedures for this. If you don't have access please work with the account SE and they can show you where to get it. Please let me know if you have any trouble.

You are correct, if it is an active passive array use the recommendations in the guide for ALUA. If there was something special we found during testing for v7000 it would have been spelled out in the solve desktop guide.
