VPLEX Witness in Hyper-V environment

Hello,

I read a whitepaper (attached) referring to Witness as a VM in Hyper-V environment.

See page 9: "VPLEX Witness is deployed as a virtual machine and may be hosted by either Microsoft Hyper-V or a VMware ESXi hypervisor."

Acctually I did not find any other documents referring to witness in Hyper-V.

So is it possible to run VPLEX witness as VM in Hyper-V?

Where to download it?

Thanks for your answer.

L.

Good Day L

Currently there is no downloadable package available for Hyper V

You will need to get in touch with your EMC Customer representative to be able to lodge a RPQ to run Your Witness Server on HyperV .On Approval You will need to Complete a OVA_or_OVF_to_MS_Hyper-V_VHD Conversion .

I would suggest that you ask EMC to assist in altering the Following start up script boot.vmware_warning after the conversion as your Post will halt during start up with the following error after the Migration and Manual intervention will be required if you don't alter the start up script to automatically Continue Post.

This installation of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server has been specifically"

adapted to run as a guest operating system in VMware vSphere environments."

Proceeding to run in a non-vSphere environment will leave you in an

unsupported state and might impact your compliance requirements."

Press any key to proceed with booting.
