VPlex CLI - Multiple Monitors Created Against Single Director
Hi Team,
I observed that multiple monitors created against single director-1-1-A with different names.
I compared values of two different CSV files corresponding to the monitors created with the same time but they are different from each other.
I did not understood why multiple monitors for the same director i.e director-1-1-A is created and which one to perfer to get the performance data. All the CSV files has the same metrics in them. Please help me to understand this.
Regards,
Pavan V

Hi Pavan,
There are different types of monitors in VPLEX
1- Perpetual monitors
2- Virtual volumes monitors
Normally there are default monitors created by VPLEX, to monitor the performance of directors and the virtual volumes.
The performance charts that are shown in the GUI are grabbing the information from these two types of monitors.
For example, if the customer has VIPR SRM, custom monitors can be made to be used by it.
Referring to this KB https://support.emc.com/kb/485592 , A custom monitor was created with specific data collection frequency and a custom name.

Ahmed
