Calling fellow Boston/Cambridge, MA Community Members!

Does anyone live in the Boston/Greater Boston/Cambridge area?

There is a Hadoop User Group meetup, hosted by Hack/Reduce in Cambridge on April 22nd. I will be heading there if anyone is interested in joining! I have pasted the link and description below:

The Future of Data

In recent years a wide range of new technologies have disrupted traditional data management. We're now in the middle of a revolution in data processing methods. Choosing allegiances in a revolution is risky. In this talk I'll present the underlying causes of the revolution and predict how the data world might look once we're through it.

Doug (@cutting), Chief Architect at Cloudera, is the founder of numerous successful open source projects, including Lucene, Nutch, Avro, and Hadoop. Doug joined Cloudera in 2009 from Yahoo!, where he was a key member of the team that built and deployed a production Hadoop storage and analysis cluster for mission-critical business analytics. Doug holds a Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and sits on the Board of the Apache Software Foundation.
