Activation of the free McAfee LiveSafe 12 month subscription

No documentation was provided by Dell on how to activate the 12 month subscription. My Inspiron came preinstalled with a 60 day trial. Other threads suggested you have to sign-in/create an account with McAfee using the same email address you used for the Dell order. That did not work. McAfee support was no help. Dell support was great, although they did not know how to solve the problem immediately.

Solution - after creating the McAfee account, you need to go to your account on the McAfee website, and then download and reinstall the product. Not necessary to uninstall as it really isn't re-installing the full product, just making the necessary registration adjustments.
