Hi, swingman13,

QUOTE:
"Said deleted and infected"

Are you saying that Computer Associates deleted it but the infection remains?
Did Windows Defender not find the trojan?

Let's try this:
Update your Super Anti-Spyware. Do not run a scan yet.

Reboot into Safemode:
Turn on the computer.
Immediately begin tapping the F8 key.
Use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode and press the Enter key.

Run your Computer Associates scan again. See if it will clean the trojan while in Safemode. If it still finds the trojan, make a note of WHERE it is, and let me know in your next reply.
When finished, reboot normally.

As a follow-up, run a scan with SAS. Please save the log from SAS so you can post that in your reply.

Finally, please post the SAS log and a fresh HijackThis log. Let me know how things are running.

The virus came up twice on the real-time scanner at the same time. Once as deleted and once as infected. Windows defender never finds anything. The program is basically useless.

The anti-virus found the trojan in my temporary internet files.

Please disable Windows Defender while we do this cleaning.
* Open Microsoft Windows Defender. Click Start, Programs, Windows Defender
* Click on Tools, General Settings
* Under Real-time protection options, deselect the Turn on real-time protection check box
* Click Save

After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

Please download and scan each user profile with CCleaner:
http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds
** Select to download the BASIC version.
1. Before first use, select Options > Advanced and UNCHECK
" Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"
2. Then select the items you wish to clean up.
In the Windows Tab:
• Clean all entries in the "Internet Explorer" section.
• Clean all the entries in the "Windows Explorer" section.
• Clean all entries in the "System" section.
• Clean all entries in the "Advanced" section.
• Clean any others that you choose.
In the Applications Tab:
• Clean all in the Firefox/Mozilla section if you use it.
• Clean all in the Opera section if you use it.
• Clean Sun Java in the Internet Section.
• Clean any others that you choose.
3. Click the " Run Cleaner" button.
4. A pop up box will appear advising this process will permanently delete files from your system.
5. Click " OK" and it will scan and clean your system.
6. Click " exit" when done.
REBOOT.

Run another scan with your anti-virus and let me know if it still finds that trojan.

is it necessary to run Ccleaner?  I just ran it about a month ago. Nothing came up on my system scan by my anti-virus and the real-time protection hasn't shown anything since recently. Does my log show an infection?

This is the sequence of infection that you reported:
QUOTE:
"Once as deleted and once as infected...
The anti-virus found the trojan in my temporary internet files."

That tells us that the trojan was deleted but returned and you were reinfected.

If you ran CCleaner a month ago and the infection is now in your temporary internet files, they need to be cleaned now.

To answer your question, your HijackThis log does not show an infection.

If you are no longer experiencing problems with the trojan, we can close this thread.

well I ran Ccleaner. Everything seems to be running normally. As always thank you for your help.
