Dell key board

my key board was working and me and my son's friend was playing family fued online and the shift key on the right side wasn't working so everytime he hit it a box would come up now my key board makes a clicking sound everytime I hit a key but doesn't type any thing. I have tried to fix it I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it but that didn't work I have tried to go to key board through control panel  but that doesn't work either it doesn't give me an option to fix it. I don't know how to fix it. Can someone help me? thanks
