Error code 80073EFE, unable to Update windows and browser problems.
Hello,
I am unable to update windows and whenever I use Google Chrome some webpages dont load or load incorrectly.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Yes, was it causing problems with my computer or just with running OM? can I re-download it or do I need a new firewall?

I`ve had a few logs recently with browser issues, the common denominator being ZoneAlarm. If you check through the license agreement you`ll see when you install it you agree to some 3rd party bundle being installed also.
Check in your installed Programs list, if you see anything related to Conduit remove it, check addons and plugins in your browsers also, uninstall/remove those too if related to Conduit.
The native Firewall that comes with Vista is adequate protection, if you do prefer a software Firewall I recommend Online Armour Free Firewall It is one of the best available, also go Here for an excellent tutorial that will show you how to use it.
Let me know if you have any remaining issues or concerns, if none we`ll clean up after your next reply...

Apologies, I gave you a bum steer, OA Firewall is not compatible with Vista 64 bit systems. Rest assured that the native Windows Firewall is more than adequate for protection. OK clean up as follows :-

Remove Combofix now that we're done with it
The above procedure will delete the following:
It is very important that you get a successful uninstall because of the extra functions done at the same time, let me know if this does not happen.

1. Click Start, type programs and features in the Search box, and then press ENTER.
2. Click to select the product to be uninstalled from the listing of installed products (Eset Online Scanner), and then click Uninstall/Change from the bar that displays the available tasks to remove ESET. Only re-boot if prompted.

Save any open work. TFC will automatically close any open programs, let it run uninterrupted. It shouldn't take longer take a couple of minutes, and may only take a few seconds. TFC may re-boot your system, if not Re-boot it yourself to complete cleaning process <---- Very Important
Keep TFC, it is an excellent utility to keep your system optimized, it empties all user temp folders, Java cache etc etc. Always remember to re-boot after a run

Yes I definitely recommend MSE, it is very good and covers many bases, Anti-virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Malware and Rootkits, it has a very easy to use and understand interface, it has the smallest footprint and uses very little resources.
Here are some tips to reduce the potential for malware infection in the future:
Make proper use of your antivirus and firewall
Antivirus and Firewall programs are integral to your computer security. However, just having them installed isn't enough. The definitions of these programs are frequently updated to detect the latest malware, if you don't keep up with these updates then you'll be vulnerable to infection. Many antivirus and firewall programs have automatic update features, make use of those if you can. If your program doesn't, then get in the habit of routinely performing manual updates, because it's important.
You should keep your antivirus and firewall guard enabled at all times, NEVER turn them off unless there's a specific reason to do so. Also, regularly performing a full system scan with your antivirus program is a good idea to make sure you're system remains clean. Once a week should be adequate. You can set the scan to run during a time when you don't plan to use the computer and just leave it to complete on its own.
Install and use WinPatrol This will inform you of any attempted unauthorized changes to your system.

You will have several programs installed, these maybe outdated and vulnerable to exploits also. To be certain, please run the free online scan by Secunia, available Here Before clicking the Start scan button, please check the box for the option Enable thorough system inspection. Just below the "Scan Options:" section, you'll see the status of what's currently processing....

Use a safer web browser
