An overwhelming majority — 80 percent — expressed a range of concerns about counterfeit, ranging from substandard quality to serious hazards, such as data loss and ID theft. "

I don't agree. It's about education and responsibility. That is why we have these forums and many like them - to educate the public.Similar security forums can be found in languages other than English.

Many people are ware from the dangers of counterfeit softwares but the number of users of these softwares is differs in different countries. For example in some countries most available softwares are counterfeit but in some others most people use original ones. IMO it also depends on the culture and the income of the people on each country.
