MBAM 4.0

Just a heads-up to everyone that MalwareBytes has released version 4.0

I have not yet tested this version on my primary/critical systems... and may not for a while, till I'm reasonably sure things are running smoothly for others (let someone else be the guinea pig).   I *have* downloaded the free (scanner) version on one system, for some quick testing.

Those interested, proceed with caution.

Thanks for the heads-up, ky331.

This version looks promising. Like you, I won't be a guinea pig, but given Malwarebytes history I intend to give the paid version a drive on my Win 7 test system shortly, and will post a review.

It seems that MBv4 continues to co-exist nicely with other real time AVs. I am only interested in how it interacts with MSE (Win7) and WD(Win10), as these are the other real-time anti-malware products I use.

Full disclosure: I am not affiliated with Malwarebytes, and am not endorsing their paid product.

I have upgraded my MB3 Premium to MB4 Premium on my Win7 Pro/SP1 test laptop. This upgrade went flawlessly using a lifetime license version, installed over the previous version. (I was fortunate to purchase a number of lifetime licenses many years back for a bargain price).

I am pleased with the intuitive new graphic user interface, the scan speed, and the settings options. The only change I made to the default settings was to disable automatic version upgrades (and enable notifications of same).

So far, so good. As always YMMV ...
