MSE error code 0x80070643
My MSE was working fine and after a recent update, when I tried to start MSE, it said can not start due to something to do with a group policy object. I followed the instructions in several of the technet forums and managed to get it uninstalled using revo uninstaller. I downloaded a fresh version of MSE and when I try to install it I get the error code 0x80070643. I have scanned for viruses using Hitman Pro and Malwarebytes with no results. I have also scanned for any root kits using Kaspersky with no results as well. Please help if you can for I am at a loss of what to do. I have tried the following links:

Hi, lordanadon, and welcome to the forum.
Can you answer a few questions first:
1) Which operating system are you using (XP, Windows 7 or 8, etc)?
2) How old is your PC, roughly, and did it come with any anti-virus/security suite pre-installed other than MSE ? Has any other anti-virus product been installed prior to MSE? (I ask because incomplete removal of a prior AV can interfere with a subsequent install of a different AV).
3) You mentioned running Kaspersky to check for rootkits. I presume you are referring to their on-demand tdsskiller.exe utility, and not a Kaspersky AV product that runs in real-time?
4) Which real-time (always running) security products are currently loading at start-up? (Firewall, any HIPS programs, AV, anti-malware, etc. I am not referring to any on-demand scanners you might use). You mentioned HitmanPro: is this the free or paid version?
5) Is your PC otherwise running well (no slowdowns, pop-ups, or difficulty opening programs or browsers)?
Your error code is not specific, but difficulties in installing AVs are often due to security program conflicts. I've been running MSE on several PCs since its first version, but will need the above info before advising further.

This error is usually a result of left-overs files, registry entries and firewall settings from a previous anti-virus protection software. Make sure, you have uninstalled all other antivirus applications, along with left over's and traces.
