McAfee Proxy Service Module Stopped working, any help?

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 v.275 and I have the problem where I get the error message McAfee Proxy Service Module Stopped working.  This happens the first time i open Internet explorer or try to sign into Windows Live Messenger.

I had this problem and blamed it on upgrading to Vista so i did a clean install of Vista then installed all vista updates including Service Pack 1 (i was invited to beta test it).  I then logged onto my McAfee account and downloaded McAfee SecurityCenter and installed it.
It seemed to function normally the first few times.  I ran Vitual Technician and it said it found and fixed problems, it wouldn't list the problems found, this seemed to make my problem worse!
Windows Directs me to the following website as a solution but it itsnt a solution:
http://forums.mcafeehelp.com/showthread.php?t=205059
My system is a Dell Dimension 5150, 1GB RAM, 32-bit, Dule Core 3GHz Pentium D Processor.
My system is guaranteed Windows Vista Capable by Dell there for I expect full Vista compatibality, I want answers and a solution!

Hi Saskia,

Try a clean install of your McAfee software to see if fixes your problem.

How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee products using the Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR)
