Did you try doing a System Restore?
Otherwise, you may have to do a reset to the factory image but that will remove all apps and software updates you installed, and all customized settings. And all your personal files will have to be backed up on external media first, if they're stored on the boot drive...

Hi:
You might want to consider that you are not best served by McAfee AV, even though you have paid for it. Assuming you are using Windows 10, I would propose that the free built-in Windows Defender Security program is sufficient to protect your PC. This opinion is based on many years of experience, and on evaluations from independent security web test sites.
