Hi! Followed directions for above - very easy thanks.

Problem is as follows:

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 running XP and IE. I tried to go to the MS update page to update some of the software on the computer. It redirects straight away to the Google home page. I can go to other site without any problem. I loaded Firefox and that does the same. I made the Microsoft update page my homepage and it still redirects to Google. I have AVG antivirus and that runs and finds nothing. However, when I try to update it it says "Update Failed. Connection with the server has failed". I also run AD-Aware anti spyware, again this will run and find the occasional thing which I remove. However, when I try to update it, the same thing happens: Update failed, unable to connect to server. My daughter has tried to download an update to MSN the same thing happens. The connection to the internet is fine, we can navigate to all other pages, email works fine, Facebook,MSN etc. Suspect that it's a virus but no idea what -Anyone have any ideas?
