Updates 9/13/16 - "Microsoft Tuesday", Flash, CCleaner
This thread is currently "under construction", and will be edited for the remainder of today. Please excuse any blank spaces or crossed-out "placeholders" for items expected to be announced.
Today is Microsoft Tuesday --- the SECOND Tuesday of the month --- on which Microsoft is expected to release its monthly cycle of Windows critical/security updates. Based on previous history, they should become available at 1 P.M. [USA - Eastern Daylight Saving Time]
Please use Windows/Automatic Updates to determine which updates are applicable to your particular system

WARNING: The link for this separate download of the MSRT is now pre-checking a box to also download "MSN default homepage & Bing default search engine". Be sure to uncheck this, unless you really want it!
Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT, MRT) for September, version 5.40
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/malicious-software-removal-tool-details.aspx
Reminder: Users who are paranoid about the remote possibility of a FP can opt to run this tool from a Command Prompt, appending a /N parameter [for "detect only" mode].
========================================================
This month's MSRT adds detection/removal of:
Win32/NightClick - This threat can give a malicious hacker unauthorized access and control of your PC. We have seen this click-fraud campaign distributed by software bundlers.
Win32/Prifou - This browser modifier can change your web browser settings without adequate consent. It can be installed on your PC when you download other software from third-party websites.
Win32/Suweezy - This malware family attempts to exclude certain folders from being scanned by several anti-malware scanners, including Windows Defender. It also installs a service that may be used to download and execute additional malware. This threat is commonly installed by BrowserModifier:Win32/Sasquor.
Win32/Xadupi - This threat is a trojan that poses as a useful application, usually called WinZipper or QKSee, but can silently download and install other malware. This trojan is often installed silently by BrowserModifier:Win32/Sasquor or BrowserModifier:Win32/SupTab.

CCleaner v5.22.5724 (13 Sep 2016)

It's taking a ridiculous time to search for updates today... on the first machine I tried, it took around 4 hours! I don't know what's going on here :emotion-7: .
As a reminder: This is (supposed to be) the last month that Microsoft is releasing SEPARATE updates for Windows 7 users. Effective next month, all updates will be combined into a single "super" package --- it'll be "all or nothing". Supposedly, that will minimize the time it takes to scan.
