Why is my computer running SO SLOW

Here is what I have done.
I keep it defragged
I have run a startup inspector and found nothing out of place.
I run an up to date ZoneAlarm antivirus
I run spywareblaster
I run spybot

Still, it runs slow. I am talking about clicking on an icon and it taking much longer than it used to for the program to start up. It takes longer to scan. It takes longer to print. It takes longer to do everything.

Does this sound like a virus or do I have a mechanical problem? If so, any idea where I can go for advice? When I google I just find sites that suggest what I already do.

Please refer to this article for tips on troubleshooting a slow computer: http://en.community.dell.com/wikis/spyware_virus/computer-and-browser-slowness-malware.aspx

If you have tried all that and you still have a problem with slowness, it might be good to post a log.

Logs are read on the Malware Removal Forum.

The vendor for PC Health Advisor is ParetoLogic.

My Web Of Trust security does not give the vendor site such a good rating: http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/www.paretologic.com
