Vplex and VXrail

Hello,

We have a vplex connected with 2 VNX 5600. Can the vplex connect with a Vxrail for replication of data?

Hi,

VPLEX is a virtual storage solution (in the form of an Appliance) for heterogeneous host operating system environments and for both EMC and non-EMC block storage. It works with Fibre Channel connectivity and LUN replication/mirroring.

VxRail  uses vSAN on the software defined storage layer. It is an object storage solution delivered as software defined.

These technologies or products does not interact with each other.

VxRail has a feature called vSAN Stretched Cluster (Introduction to Stretched Clusters), which delivers similar functionalities as the VPLEX does for Block storage.

Thanks,

You can't replicate directly with VPlex but you can you other replication solutions like RecoverPoint for VMs or VMware Replication. Those solutions are not metro-cluster solutions like VPlex but do allow for a low RPO/RTO solution.
