SYSTEM rECOVERY
I would like to hear from users that have succeeded in rebuiding their OS from a USB flash disk.
I am on an Ispiron 3655 computer and windows 10.
The OS came pre-installed.
Should it crash I would like to restore it in the shortest time possible.
I do have a recovery usb flash disk.
Thanks for your help

Please test the recovery drive to make sure it do indeed work. Further, if you create a system image, test the image as well.
1. Power on system, insert the recovery media into a USB port, wait about 3 minutes, and then power off system.
2. Power computer on again, quickly start tapping the F12 key continuously until you see Preparing one time boot menu in the top right corner of the screen.
3. At the boot menu, select the recovery drive under UEFI BOOT.
4. Select your keyboard language. At the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot

I'd suggest purchasing a external drive at your local Walmart and then create a System Image backup of windows 10. A system Image is a copy of the drives require for windows to run. Please, keep in mind, you can backup all your important stuff to that drive as well. I believe this is the safest, easiest and shortest way to restore windows 10.

I did all that.
Booted from usb disk.
It went through the motions you described.
It found nothing wrong and went back to the log on screen.
BUT DID THIS PROVE THAT THIS USB DISK WILL RE-INSTALL THE SYSTEM?
What if it is defective.
Since I havea working system this exercise did not prove much.
Thank you for all of your replies and tips. I will check them out one by one.
