since 2004 update my machine is checking for updates on it's own

I'm talking about windows updates, not support assist. I used to have to click check for updates in settings/updates and security. Now Every time I open settings/updates I see it has already checked for updates (every day). It also installs them with no input from me. (well some of them, it did ask me once, but it appears it downloaded them already and all I had to do was allow the install). It's doing all this during my set "active hours" Am I not seeing some new setting somewhere?
