Back and Recovery "Needs to Close"

I have the premium version that I use to back up data. I launch the app then Back-up > Data back-up > Settings. I then get the error message "Dell Backup and recovery encountered a problem and needs to close". This has happened repeatedly. I took the latest sw version but that did not solve it. I am running Win 8.1
