Can Not Logon to Windows 8 Using Live ID and Digital Person 6.1

I have a DELL Vostro 3560 running Windows 8 x64 running DigitalPerson version 6.1.  My fingerprint reader works fine if I logon as a local user (for loggging in and everywhere else), although I can not logon using my live ID; that I have to do manually when using my MS live ID then once I am logged in I can use the fingerprint reader everywhere else.  The fingerprint software is acting like the password prompt is not there.  Any advice?
