Dell Backup and Recovery Premium does not allow for data file restore after complete system rebuild.
I recently had to perform a factory system restore of My XPS 2720 using the Dell provided USB recovery drive. My data files had already been destroyed when I attempted to recover the system using the Dell Backup and Recovery software from a previous backup. I was OK with that knowing that I had a successful data backup from before I started having the system issues.
I have re-installed the Dell Backup and Recovery Premium software; however, I am unable to do a Data restore from my previous backup. I know where the .inp files are but I am not able to select this backup set in the software interface.
I have also attempted to use the migrestore.exe utility which doesn't seem to work. It gives me the option to browse to an external backup drive but when I click the Browse button the dialogue box is blank and I have nothing to select. Here is what I am seeing.
10 years of photos in a backup that I can't get at!!! Help please!
