Windows 7 Pro vs Windows 8 pro
Are there valid reasons to upgrade from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 8 Pro? I have an almost new 64-bit Dell Latitude laptop that I need to use. I was out sick for awhile so I continued to use my older Latitude with Windows XP, which I just love! However, it is time to use the new system but before I start installing the new program software, I need to know if I should upgrade or not. I use Photoshop, office 2010, etc and work on various proprietary web sites. Any suggestions?

XP is reaching its End of Life in April 2014.
From Windows 7 SP1 to Windows 8.1 I would say its not worth the cost of an upgrade license for what you get.
Windows 8.1 Professional has better integration with SkyDrive (but you can download SkyDrive for Windows for Windows 7), it has Microsoft Security Essentials integrated (but you can download this for Windows 7). The performance of Windows 8.1 is superior to that of Window s7 Service Pack 1 but I personally would say not enough to justify buying a full upgrade license.
