Active Desktop Recovery & Script Error Line 65 - Please Help
After turning on my computer, I came back to it about 15 mins later. The desktop looked fine but I was stuck on the clock. I couldn't click on any icons so they'd open, such as Firefox.
Being very impatient, I turned off my computer then turned it back on. This time, when it loaded, the desktop was white (although all desktop icons were there) and there was a message about Active Desktop Recovery. I clicked on the Restore button and an IE Script Error popped up:
Line 65
Char 1
Error Object doesn't support this action
Code 0
file//C: Documents%20and%20 Settings/myname/Application%20Data/Microsoft/Internet% 20 Explorer/Desktop.htt
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
I clicked yes and the popup window disappeared but nothing else happened.
I clicked on the Start button, intending to click the Restart button but there was a little icon that said I could click the Turn Off button and some updates would load. (I have automatic updates and there was such an icon in my Taskbar).
So, being not only very impatient but a looney as well, I clicked the Turn Off button. Updates loaded then my machine turned off.
After turning the computer back on, it all loaded but that Active Desktop Recovery problem was still there. I clicked on the Restore button and the same Script error as above popped up.
I have no idea what to do. Is it unsafe for me to be online?
I'd really appreciate help. Thanks!
